Functional Movement Active Retirees in Sligo

This is a series of gentle exercises in order to maintain your stability, balance and co-ordination.  We also concentrate on flexibility of the joints and increasing muscle strength and mass.  This is a fantastic class for Active retirees.  Gentle weight bearing exercises are also carried out including light hand weights, resistance bands, squats and lunges.  This weight bearing is key to maintaining or increasing bone density.

Balance is also worked on using a series of pilates-based movements, concentrating on core strength and posture.  The benefits of this type of exercise is to enhance activities of daily living, it challenges brain function, increases social interaction and overall improvement in one’s sense of well-being.
